Using the same materials and techniques that have transformed the smiles of the rich and famous, Dr. Morris can transform any flawed smile into a beautiful, camera-ready work of art. Offering a total smile overhaul, porcelain veneers are a minimally invasive method for concealing every imaginable smile imperfection.
What are porcelain veneers?
As their name suggests, veneers are made of porcelain. These wafer-thin, shell-like coverings, veneers are bonded to the outer surfaces of teeth to produce a uniform looking smile that is free of stains, chips, cracks, and gaps. Sometimes referred to as “instant orthodontics” porcelain veneers produce a complete smile transformation that appears natural.
How much are veneers like natural teeth?
Porcelain, like the enamel coating of natural teeth, is slightly translucent. Additionally, porcelain comes in a variety of white, tooth-colored shades. Because of its color and luster, porcelain veneers closely resemble the appearance of a natural, healthy tooth. Like real teeth, porcelain also reflects light.
What happens during a dental veneers procedure?
A dental veneers procedure takes two office visits. During your first visit, Dr. Morris will examine your teeth and take impressions (molds). These molds will be sent to a dental laboratory where trained technicians will make your veneers to exact specifications so that your cosmetic enhancements look as natural and beautiful as possible. When your veneers are ready, you will return to our practice for the placement process. At your second appointment, Dr. Morris and our team will gently prepare your teeth for the bonding process. Using a special cement-like compound, the veneers will be placed on the front surfaces as your teeth. While the compound dries, our dentist will make any final adjustments necessary to ensure that your new smile looks perfect and flawless.
